Corals are the marine equivalent of the Amazon rainforest. Their shapes and colours have an indescribable and captivating beauty, but they are also authentic treasures of biodiversity. Like so many other jewels of nature, they are suffering the consequences of the excessive actions of human beings. Their loss would be a catastrophe since they support 30% of all marine life on the planet as well as the livelihood of millions of people around the world. The seas are filling with whitish coral, a symptom of bleaching and thus their agony. I would like these images inspired by coral reefs to draw attention to this devastation that might still be avoided if the people of the world are willing to change.
